Khloe Throws Lamar Under the Bus
With a show to promote and a damaged marriage, Khloe Kardashian went on the Howard Stern show on Wednesday and spilled all the details about her marriage to Lamar. She says he cheated on her relentlessly. Lamar used his assistant to facilitate the cheating. “Lamar was so great at making me feel like I was the only one and I was this princess, I never speculated cheating,” Khloe said. “He was so good [at hiding it]. Nothing was on his cell phones, [but] he had an assistant. They were all on his assistant’s phone, so he was really crafty.”
Needless to say, Khloe was furious at the assistant in addition to her husband. “It’s disgusting and I was pissed at the assistant,” she says. “All these rumors kept coming out in the weeklies, and as much as I know they’re bulls–t, where there’s smoke there’s fire. Something has to be right here. This one girl did this interview and she was so adamant, and when I confronted [Lamar], he blamed another teammate. He was like ‘Oh, that’s another teammate’s girl.’”
But Khloe wasn’t done spilling the tea. She sort of defended Lamar’s controversial tenure with the Dallas Mavericks, the team Lamar essentially walked out on after being traded. She told Howard that racists in Dallas made racial comments to both of them, and called her a “n***** lover.” She also claims her car was vandalized. Khloe’s comments were not taken very well by Mavs owner Mark Cuban. Although he didn’t doubt the veracity of Khloe, he wanted to know why she never said anything. “Anytime I talked to her I asked how things were going, and did she need anything. Never a word. Not from Lamar or anyone. We would text about trying to help Lamar and not a word. I obviously don’t know what she encountered, but I can say that it’s not something she ever mentioned to me or anyone in our organization.” Cuban also wanted it to be known that the Mavs tried to help Lamar with whatever he was going through. Cuban said “[w]e had a psychologist working with Lamar and put together support programs for him. It never came up. I like Khloe. I’m not questioning her, but she never said anything to us.”
R.I.P. Rickman
Alan Rickman became the second celebrity to die of cancer at age 69 this week. Like David Bowie, Rickman kept his health a secret. Rickman was known for being able to play any role – from Richard III on stage to Professor Snape on the big screen – with gravitas and a touch of humor. Rickman’s first significant film role was as Hans Gruber in the hit movie “Die Hard.” He won an Emmy for the 1996 movie Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny. He also starred in Sense and Sensibility, Michael Collins, Truly Madly Deeply, Love Actually, and three other movies which will be released later this year.
R.I.P. René Angélil
Celine Dion’s husband René Angélil has died at age 73 after a long battle with cancer. Angélil and Celine have three children, Nelson and Eddy, age 5 and René-Charles, who is 16 years old. Angélil also is survived by his adult children from his first marriage. Angélil discovered Celine at age 12 and eventually married her as an adult.
Nick Carter Arrested
Boy Bander and lost boy Nick Carter insists there’s nothing wrong with him, but he just keeps getting into trouble. Carter and a wasted friend went out to a bar in Florida and were drunk and disorderly. Carter even tried to jump and choke the bouncer! The police report indicates that the bar staff said Carter and his boy were already completely drunk when they got to the bar at just 7:00 pm. The bar workers took one look at the sloshed boys and refused to serve them. The two didn’t take it lying down, instead they started raising hell and yelling at bartenders. When the staff called the bouncers, they started a brawl. Carter’s friend headbutted the bar manager, and Carter reached up to grab a bouncer by the throat! Staffers had subdued the boys by the time police responded, but needless to say, Carter and his buddy have been charged with assault and battery and are behind bars.
Gwen and Blake Won’t Go Away
NBC executives huddled for the annual TCA’s, where the networks promote their new and existing shows. Bob Greenblatt, chief of NBC, and his executives couldn’t wait to chat about Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Although Stefani is out for this season of The Voice since Christina Auguilera is returning, NBC dropped hints that Stefani may join the show as a mentor working with Blake. “We’re announcing those advisers in the next couple of weeks but she’s very close to the show,” Greenblatt said. And get a load of this nauseating exchange. “We’d love to see Gwen back. She’s a great friend of this network, we love her, the audience loves her, lots of people love her.” A reporter then shot back that “Blake apparently loves her as well,” and Greenblatt was like “He does!”
Does anybody else think we need a break from this breathlessly-managed relationship? Do these two even want to be around each other if it’s not a public relations event? Are you tired of the Shelton/Stefani schtick or is it more like can’t-get-enough? Let us know!
