There’s something I have to admit – I’m obsessed with makeup. Tell me about a new beauty product launching at Sephora and I’m more than ready to be at the mall half an hour before it’s open to the public.
I’ve found out that more often than not, makeup items don’t live up to the hype and turn out to be nothing more than a disappointment. And that’s a lesson I’ve learned the hard way, but also one that’s enabled me to find out about some genius beauty products that are worth every single penny.
If this has sparked your curiosity even a little bit, you’d better keep reading. You will definitely not regret going over this by the time you finish reading this article.
The Beautyblender
At $20 a piece, the Beautyblender is quite up there in price. However, women from all over the world can assure you of one thing: this is so much more than a regular makeup sponge. The Beautyblender will offer you everything you need, regardless of the product you’re applying. Just dot the it all over your face, dampen this bad boy and pat, pat, pat until your face looks like it’s been photoshopped. Bam!
Urban Decay’s Naked Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup
This product’s got a pretty long name, but it’s actually foundation. Good quality, long-wearing matte foundation that costs $40. I know the price can be quite disheartening, but tell me, how many foundations come in 24 shades?
Benefit’s POREfessional Face Primer
For no more than $31 bucks (thank God!), this sweet little balm promises to leave you with “smoother-than-smooth skin” in a matter of seconds. Good thing is, Benefit’s POREfessional is true to its word, making not only pores, but also fine lines much less visible pretty much instantaneously. It also contains Vitamin E, and it does a brilliant job at helping your makeup stay put all day long.
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade
Probably one of the most revolutionary beauty products on the market, Anastasia’s Dipbrow Pomade offers you great quality at a price that is surprisingly low in comparison with other similar products. For $18 only, you get a pot of beautiful, waterproof pomade that comes in no less than 11 shades that suit every complexion and hair color.
Urban Decay’s Naked Eyeshadow Palette
Come on, you don’t have to pretend that you didn’t expect me to include the world’s bestselling eyeshadow palette in this article. You knew it was coming, and here it is. You can get Urban Decay’s hit palette for $54, which may sound like a lot of money at first. However, Naked 1 includes 12 shades that are not only extremely pretty, but also highly pigmented and long-wearing.
Don’t let anyone trick you into buying dupes, because I’ve tested quite a few of them and nothing compares to the original, which is totally worth the splurge.
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner
The name of this product is not a lie, because this eye liner does stay on all day. It will set you back $22, but in my opinion, this is worth all the money in the world. Personally, I’ve never seen a good quality liquid liner that comes in 12 vibrant shades, so Stila’s is pretty much unique in this respect. Oh, and have I mentioned that it’s also completely waterproof too?
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Mascara comes in all shapes and sizes, and new formulas seem to get launched every month. There is a downside to this situation though, and I’m talking about the fact that it can be pretty hard to keep up with every hot new product. Luckily for us, the best mascaras tend to be the classics, and one of these classics is the one and only Better Than Sex.
For $23, you’ll get a full tube of long-wearing, carbon black mascara and a brilliant, hourglass-shaped wand that will give you eyelashes for days.
Colourpop’s Ultra Matte Lipsticks
We’ve talked about some pretty expensive stuff right here, so I thought you’d like to see something that’s both great quality and affordable, and that’s how thought of Colourpop and their absolutely gorgeous ultra matte lippies. They’re only $6 each and they come in a wide variety of colors that look good on every skin tone. What else could you possibly want from a beauty product?
Urban Decay’s All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
What’s the point of applying makeup exquisitely if it melts right off your face only an hour after you go out in the heat? But if you’d rather avoid situations like this, this absolutely magical setting spray from Urban Decay is exactly what you need. It does cost a good $30, but it easily crushes all its competition when it comes to effectiveness against both extreme heat and humidity or water. This babe ain’t called ‘All Nighter’ for no reason.
As a general rule of thumb, you should definitely think twice before buying a new beauty product. However, this is not the case with these bad boys, which are bound to help you step up your makeup game in before you even know it.
