Too Much Medications
In several instances the medications you are taking constitute a critical substitute to a lifestyle change. For example, medication that lowers cholesterol interrupts critical metabolic processes, that dramatically decrease your energy burn.
What to do? Many times we cannot avoid taking medications. However before starting a new regime, talk to your doctor and find out if a lifestyle change, such as exercise or diet, may bring about the desired result.
Not Enough Sun
Researches found that the level of vitamin D is significantly lower among overweight people than among people with healthy weight. A research published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism in 2010 found that the lack of vitamin D during adolescence may also lead to slower growth and increased weight.
What to do? Go out to the sun during the maximal UVB radiation hours and expose your face and arms, without any sunscreen, for 10-15 minutes during the summer and for 20-30 minutes during the winter (depending on skin type).
It would also be a good idea to ask your doctor to test your vitamin levels and supplement any deficiency with vitamin D tablets.
